Berkeley: Berkeley Gray Panthers & Strawberry Creek Lodge Tenants Assoc. Iraq Moratorium vigil. Nov 21, 2008, 2 -- 4 PM, Corners of University and Acton, Berkeley, CA. We gather to sing, chant, hand out literature and say no to war at this busy intersection midway between the San Francisco Bay and the University of California in Berkeley. We have a loyal group of regulars, and new folks are always welcome to share the spirit.*

Jackson: We are still having our monthy peace vigils on the third Friday in front of city hall, Jackson, CA at the corner of the hiway 49 and Hiway99 divergence - unless it rains.

Montrose: Montrose PeaceVigil. Every Friday, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. In Montrose Shopping Park at the NW corner of Oceanview Blvd. and Honolulu Avenue. We have gathered at this location every Friday evening since January 2005 to remind people that we are still at war, to stand up for peaceful solutions to conflicts, and to urge an enlightened and nonviolent U.S. foreign policy. We protest the U.S. invasion of Iraq and oppose the continuing occupation there. We have extra signs, or bring your own. Oakland: Alameda County Peace and Freedom Party: Shut Down The War Machine! 11/21/2008, 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. 40th Street and Telegraph Avenue, Oakland. We'll greet evening commuters at this busy intersection near the MacArthur BART station with our signs: "Shut Down the War Machine" and others you may bring.

Oakland: Ecumenical Peace Institute, Living Graveyard. Tuesday, Nov 18 at noon. Oakland Federal Building, 1301 Clay Street, Oakland, 94612. Participants lie from noon to one o'clock on the city sidewalk in front of the Oakland Federal Building. They are covered with white sheets. Two tombstones give the numbers of the Iraqi dead and the "Coalition" and U.S. dead. For the hour of the action, the names of the dead are read. Groups of Iraqi names and names of California military dead are read. After each name a gong is sounded.

San Francisco: Haight Ashbury Peace Vigil--Friday, November 21, 2008, and every third Friday of the month until the war in Iraq is over. 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Neighborhood Peace Vigil--Everybody Welcome. San Pedro: San Pedro Neighbors for Peace and Justice Candlelite Vigil. 11/21/08, 5:00-7:00PM at the intersection of First and Gaffey Streets, San Pedro, Ca. This will be our 297th Consecutive Friday Night Vigil To End the War and Bring Our Troops Home

Santa Barbara: Santa Barbara Vets for Peace Chapter 54 will sponser an event @ Santa Barbara City College, on the West Campus lawn across from the campus library, on every third Friday of each month during the Fall, 08 and Spring 09 Semesters, from 10am-3pm. The event will consist of a mock cemetary of the U.S. Military Teen Dead, from the Iraq & Afghanistan conflicts. To date we have information on 299, 18 & 19 year old casualties from both conflicts.The crosses will be set up by volunteers from the local vets for peace chapers and SBCC students. Then passing by students & community members will be asked to place a placard of the photo and information of a teen casualty on the crosses. Information about the cost of war & the immediate withdrawal of troops from both conflicts will be given out.* Past events occurred in Sept with crosses and October was with "Tombstones". The first event had the Campus newspaper and the Local TV station. In November we will make the attempt to have the campus newspaper, local TV and the SB News press as well as coverage from UCSB.

Santa Cruz:

Peaceful Protest and Vigil Nov. 21, 4pm-5:30 at Resurrection Church Cemetery. Counting Lives Lost Iraq War Memorial Community Art Installation. Soquel Dr./State Park Dr. Aptos. The Iraq Moratorium is an event that takes place in cities across the country every third Friday of the month. We will peacefully protest the war during rush hour on the sidewalks in front of the Resurrection - Aptos cemetery where the Counting Lives Lost Iraq War Memorial: Community art installation of thousands of clay figurines representing the U.S. Troops and Iraqi Civilian deaths. Norwich: Iraq Moratorium Vigil, 4:00 PM November 21 on Chelsea Parade, In Front of NFA, Norwich, CT. Come join us at a peaceful vigil with like-minded Americans who want an end to the war & a safe return of our service men & women. Pinellas Park: Veterans for Peace. November 21, 4:30 to 5:30 PM. Join Iraq Moritorium Pinellas Park peace activists against the occupations of OIE and OEF. We meet on the third Friday of the month at the intersection of US 19 and Gandy/Park Blvd in Pinellas Park, with parking at the SW corner at the "Friends of Strays". We will hold signs against the occupation and bring our troops home for rush-hour commuters, many who work for our major war industries located nearby and make them aware of the terrible human and financial costs of this war. Many respond with honks and peace signs.

Tampa: Tampa Iraq Moratorium, sponsored by Veterans For Peace/MoveOn/CodePink. Come out on Friday, November 21 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM during "rush hour" at the corner of Fletcher Avenue and Palm Drive next to USF - Tampa Campus and join the call to "End the War!" and "Bring the Troops Home!". Berwyn:Join Near West Citizens for Peace and Justice for Iraq Moratorium No. 15, when we have a vigil and mass leafleting at the Harlem Avenue Metra Stop, 7135 Windsor Ave, Berwyn,from 5 to 6pm on Friday, Nov. 21. We are particularly targeting traffic with signs and commuters with fliers and 'honk for peace' to trains, trucks, buses and cars.

Chicago. Friday, Nov. 21 ,Art Against War. Music and more protesting the war in Iraq, Heartland Cafe, $5, variety of music, show at 9 pm. Art Against War donates the proceeds of each show to one of four selected non-profits actively addressing the prevention or fallout of war. Recipient organizations teach nonviolence, resettle refugees in Chicago, counter recruitment of youth to the military and assist returning veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. November's show will benefit Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW). IVAW was founded by Iraq war veterans in 2004 and gives voice to the many active duty service people and veterans who oppose the war. It calls for immediate withdrawal of all occupying forces in Iraq and reparations for the human and structural damages Iraq has suffered. IVAW also works for full benefits, adequate healthcare (including mental health), and other supports for returning servicemen and women. November Performers: Amy Dixon-Kolar is a seasoned acoustic folk singer/songwriter, Her music and lyrics offer a new perspective to the everyday, drawing from her experience as a teacher, mother, political activist, interpreter and performer. The Warrior Writers is a project of Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) providing an outlet for servicemen and women to express their experiences through poetry and stories. IVAW members will read selected shorts. Rock band, The Living Blue, headlines.

Takoma Park/Silver Spring: Takoma Moratorium Vigil: November 21, 6-7 pm at the Takoma Metro. Our group alternates between the Takoma and Silver Spring metro stations, and we will be at Takoma this month for a 6-7 vigil, followed by a potluck at the Takoma Park Presbyterian Church, Maple and Tulip Avenues. Duluth: Northland Anti-War Coalition will be holding a peace vigil on Friday, Nov. 21 as part of our local contribution to the ongoing monthly Iraq Moratorium Project. From 4:30-5:30pm we'll be holding signs and handing out fliers at Pennel Park. Pennel Park is located on the corner of Central Entrance and Arlington Ave. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. We'll have extra signs on hand, but feel free to make and bring your own!

Saint Paul: Street Protest, Petition, and Creativity. On Friday November 21, at 3pm there will be street protest at Norm Coleman's office (2550 University Ave W) at which we will deliver anti-war demands and petitions from veterans and youth. The protest will meet at University and Transfer Rd, the corner outside of Norm Coleman's office. Bring any written demands or artwork that you would like to present to Coleman. *There is also a similar petition for Al Franken if he ends up winning the recount.

We are determined to keep the Iraq Moratorium alive and growing so come on out and give us a hand. Brisbane: Enogerra Military Base Vigil. Australian soldiers are deployed from the Enoggera barracks to illegal war in Iraq. A team of us holds a vigil near the entrance to our local Army Barracks every Friday-from 4 pm till dusk. This vigil has been going for more than a year.*
